Hours and Activities

We are open for fifty weeks of the year, Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm.

The day is divided into a core day 9am to 3.30pm, with the option of having breakfast with us from 8am and/or staying for tea until 6pm.

Alternatively you may wish to opt for the full day from 8am to 6pm.

Throughout the day our time is filled using a mixture of pre-planned activities and spontaneously initiated pursuits which ensure maximum interest, opportunity and contentment for all children.

Example Weekly Activities
(these are rotated at regular intervals)
  • Monday - Debutots Early Years Drama - A unique blend of interactive storytelling and dramatic play, led by a specialist external practitioner, designed to build self confidence, encourage self-expression and nurture a love of language and story.
  • Tuesday - Treasure boxes - Each week children are presented with a box contain new items of interest for them to discover, explore and discuss.
  • Wednesday - Local outing - A small group of children are taken out of the nursery, for example to the local library, or the park to feed the ducks or to take part in an observational activity that relates to our current theme. Each week a different group of children participate and we take care to ensure that the activity is matched to the groups age, stage of development and parental wishes.
  • Thursday - Show and tell - Each child can bring an item from home which relates to the current topic of the week or month.
  • Friday - Weekly reflection time - a special extended session to reflect on the various activities that have taken place throughout the week.
