FAQs

I want to register my child at your nursery. What do I need to do?

If you have not already visited Shepherds Hill, you can arrange a visit by contacting us. You will need to complete a registration form, which is available from the Nursery. A member of staff from the Nursery will then contact you to discuss your requirements.

How can I ensure my child enjoys starting nursery?

We recognise that choosing to send your child to nursery is an important decision and can be an anxious time for both you and your child. Once a place has been offered, your family's Key Person will organise to meet you and your child to discuss settling and arrange some short accompanied visits to the nursery.

What information will you keep about my child and who will have access to this?

We keep personal information about your child confidential, the only people with access to this will be the Nursery Practitioners. Confidentiality is respected at all times where appropriate. Information provided is not disclosed without consent from the individual concerned or the parent/guardian of the child. Your child's progress file will also be kept confidential and will only be accessible to the Nursery employees.

How will you discipline my child?

We implement a positive discipline policy, which takes into account each individual child's temperament and level of understanding. We endeavour to lead by example, set clear limits and boundaries and ensure good communication between all of our carers and children.
